Proyecto Erasmus k201 sobre buenas prácticas educativas desarrollado con centros de educación secundaria de Saldus (Letonia), Vrhnika (Slovenia), Budapest (Hungría), Reykjavík (Islandia)




Project Information

The project aims at responsible and sustainable outdoor education and its relation to our health and wellbeing. The students learn to respect our natural landscape with an in-depth understanding of sustainability.
Students will explore flora and fauna, and consider social geography with the human influences and learn what impact outdoor activities have on our environment now and for the future.
Studies include health and physical education, geography, environmental sciencemixed withoutdoor activities like biking, hiking, trail running, climbing, horse riding, skiing, sailing, canooing etc.
Students will do research on national parks and nature reserves and do volunteer work in all aspects of practical conservation management in nature protection areas including wilderness and heritage management projects in cooperation with the environment authorities.




OBJEctives

• To make students and teachers aware of the concept of sustainable outdoor activities.
• To offer sustainable outdoor activities in each school.
• To share expertise in teaching sustainable outdoor activities.
• To promote cooperation between schools and environment authorities on the field of volunteer work.
• To make students and teachers participate in volunteer work in nature reserves and recreation areas.
• To make students and teachers practice hands on environmental education.
• To help students understand and practice the concept of conservation of our natural environment.
• To make students and teachers aware of the important role of our nature ecosystem.
• To reduce the footprint we leave behind on earth.
• To build on existing experience and good practice from Sustainable School Policy for education in Sustainable Outdoor Activities.
• To promote the development of quality, creativity and innovation in education.
• To promote equal opportunities in inclusive education.
• To broaden the social and life experience of students by enabling them to travel, meet and work with students from other European countries.
• To encourage lifelong friendships and working partnerships.
• To enhance and encourage learning of foreign languages.
• To develop the awareness of cultural diversity and equity.
• To make students and teachers feel members of the European community, through the exchange of visits.
• To show that joint effort and cooperation can make the school and our world a better place.
work process
Eacha shool will do the following"

does research on outdoor activities, nature reserves and recreation areas in the area surrounding.
• has contact with the environmental authorities for the area in order to establish cooperation and to prepare volunteer work.
• will prepare a visit of the participating patner schools and plan an outdoor activity inconnection with this visit.
• will prepare volunteer work in cooperation with the environmental authorities for the visit.
• will establish a web page for the project with links to the common website of the partnership.
• will integrate aspects of the project into the school curriculum for the 2 years of the project.
• will present material they have produced at the transnational meetings
• will organize outdoor activities for the students of their school for the 2 years of the project.
